Kimball reaches out to the local, state, regional, national, and world communities. We think it is important to inform visitors to this website of the community and charitable activities Kimball is involved in, as it allows visitors to be informed of the various opportunities to serve. Members and participants of all ages are encouraged to get involved in reaching out to others; after all, as disciples of Christ, we believe in living out this part of our mission. So, take some time and read about the many different ways you can become involved!

The program is offered year round. Area churches take turns hosting the program on a monthly basis and volunteers from other churches cook, serve and clean up the meals and fellowship with the guests as well. Kimball supports the Samaritan's Table by hosting meals on Thursday evenings at 6pm. This is a wonderful way to reach out to those in need in our community and is very rewarding for all who volunteer.

CCM emerged as a leader in the community during the response to the 2003 closing of Pillowtex, the largest mass layoff in the history of North Carolina. The crisis presented an economic disaster for our community that would require a collective response. CCM partnered with many public, private, and faith-based organizations through a collaborative effort unprecedented in its scope. The response developed a model of service and cooperation that still exists at CCM's Crisis Center in Concord.
Cooperative Christian Ministry has continued to grow each year. In 2006, over 800 volunteers delivered services to over 20,000 people for direct assistance in some manner of food, shelter, or financial assistance through CCM.

CVAN, Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network, is an organization formed in 1982 to provide safety, shelter and support to the women and children victims of domestic violence. For 25 years CVAN has served the Cabarrus County community through their programs including; 24 hour crisis line, temporary shelter, counseling, court advocacy, education, and transitional housing. In 2005, CVAN opened a 'gently used clothing", resale store that provides quality clothing to the community at reasonable prices while providing additional funding for their operations.
Kimball Lutheran has played an important role in helping CVAN continue their mission. Kimball has supported CVAN's annual Men For Change fundraising campaign where men provide a $100 contribution to CVAN and take a public stand against domestic violence. For the past two years, Kimball members have provided dolls and toy trucks as Christmas gifts for the children helped by CVAN. Kimball members can continue to support CVAN through prayer, financial contributions and even physical labor when needed. Recently, Kimball members, along with many members of the community, assisted CVAN with the rebuilding of their children's playground and landscaping of their properties.
